Focus: Helping Players Build, Fix, and Perfect Their Shooting Form!
Join us on July 15 for our Foundations of Shooting Clinic! Our focus will be on helping players of all ages/levels master the fundamentals of shooting form, implement effective practice habits, and develop mental toughness.
Every player can improve the technical aspects of their shot, so this clinic can benefit everyone, not just younger players!
The 3-hour session will be led by Brandon Wolfram, UTEP’s all-time field goal % leader, who has spent years developing his 3 Step Shooting System. This is a simplified and proven method that builds/fixes/refines the basketball shot around 3 core tasks: 1) shooting straight, 2) with good arc, and 3) controlling distance. The 3 Step Shooting System is an a powerful method to help players:
- Learn EXACTLY what good shooting form is
- Learn specific steps to progressively develop a consistent and repeatable shot
- Learn how to implement an effective system that drives improvement
We will take you step-by-step through the core aspects of our shooting philosophy. This will cover not only the intricacies of developing good form, but also how to practice and train better so you can improve faster. Each player will receive a manual to take home with an outline of what we will cover plus a variety of drills to continue working on after the clinic is over.
This clinic will focus on the foundations of shooting. For more advanced players see our Advanced Shooting Clinic on July 22.
Everyone can improve their shooting, whether you are an experienced player or relatively new to the game. We will show you the tricks and techniques used by some of the best shooters in the world so you can knock down more shots than ever before!

2021 is going to be a great year, and we look forward to seeing everyone back in the gym this summer!
The comfort, health, and safety of everyone remains central to our planning for all our upcoming events and classes. Please note the following:
-
Face Masks are optional.
-
Temperature Checks might be conducted upon entering for each participant before every session. If a player’s temperature exceeds 99.0 degrees, he/she can wait 20 minutes to retake it. If the temperature still exceeds 99.0 degrees the player cannot participate, no exceptions!
-
A Health Screen Questionnaire may be required upon daily entry.
- All players and staff will practice Social Distancing as much as possible on the court and off.
If any session or camp is canceled directly due to COVID related issues you will be refunded 100% for all remaining sessions/time. For ongoing training classes we can either apply the remaining amount as a credit or do a prorated refund. Contact us for more information.
-
If the athlete (or any recent close contact such as a parent, sibling, friend, etc.) feels sick at all, or has been around anyone suspected of having (or actually having) the coronavirus, flu, or any other illness in the past 10 days, please do not attend any camp or training session.
-
Good hygiene is important. Before, during, and after coming to any camp or training session, participants should wash their hands rigorously (for at least 20 seconds) and use hand sanitizer. During the camp / training session, they should avoid touching their face as much as possible, and (if needed) sneeze/cough outside the gym and into the elbow.
-
Players should bring their own water bottle (with name on it) and keep it in a place where only they will touch the bottle. The same applies for any camp that has a snack time.
-
Players should bring their own basketballs whenever possible (please write your name on the ball). If they do not have a ball, one will be provided.
